Economists have been talking a lot about ‘stagflation’ lately. This phenomenon occurs when a high inflation rate is coupled with weak economic growth—something the US hasn’t seen in almost half a century. Why are economists worried, and should the rest of us be? In collaboration with the Aspen Economic Strategy Group, the McCloskey Speaker Series gathered a panel of experts to address concerns about stagflation and its causes, signs of a future recession, and the effects of transitioning to a green economy.

Since the opening of the Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies in June, thousands of community members, artists, and academics from around the world have been versed in the life and legacy of the influential modern artist and designer. Bayer shaped the early artistic and programmatic vision of the Aspen Institute.
