We are Two Months Away from Election Day! |
While the weather may still feel like July, we have hit September and are two months out from the 2022 Midterm Election. If you are thinking, "oh my gosh, that is so soon. What should I be doing?!" Don't worry we've got you. Here are some great ways you can help the party, support your favorite candidates, and make sure we keep Colorado Blue in 2022: |
In the wake of the pandemic we are seeing a rise in the labor movement once again, and we couldn't be more excited.
It's time we started to treat those we called "essential workers" when they were risking their health to make sure the world kept spinning with a living wage and workable conditions.
This Labor Day we recognize all the Labor Movement has achieved and given working people thus far, and look forward to the great work still to come.

Democrats Working to Protect Democracy
|
Last week, the president made his case directly to the American people. He spoke from the heart about both the threats our country faces and the power we have to meet them.
The president forcefully laid out why he believes our nation is at an inflection point and the soul of our nation is at stake. He was clear: Equality and democracy are under assault. We cannot pretend otherwise. MAGA Republican elected officials do not believe in the rule of law, they refuse to accept the results of free and fair elections, and they fan the flames of political violence. The president believes and said strongly and unequivocally: Violence has no place in our democracy.
The president was optimistic about the future of America. He believes there’s nothing we can’t do. Throughout our history, America has made its greatest progress out of its darkest moment. We can and will do that again. There are far more Americans — of every background and belief — who reject the extreme MAGA ideology than accept it. And, in a powerful call to action, he said Democrats, independents and mainstream Republicans must unite to stand up for American democracy and ideals. This is a crucial moment for our democracy, and the president powerfully spoke about the challenges before us and his enduring belief that America will persevere. |

SD3 Candidate: Nick Hinrichsen |
|
|
|
Nick Hinrichsen is an Army veteran who fought in the Iraq War and served with NATO peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and the Colorado National Guard.
Nick is no stranger to hard work and knows what it takes to put food on the table in Pueblo, working years of long days and nights in Pueblo's logistics industry to build a better life for his family. While also helping to raise a child with developmental challenges, Nick put in the time to earn a Masters in Public Administration at CU Denver.
Today, Nick serves as Pueblo Transit Operations Supervisor, ensuring that the transportation lifelines that sustain Pueblo's economy, workforce mobility, and senior and family living are running on time and on budget.
In February of 2020, Nick developed the first public transit agency-wide pandemic response plan in Colorado. This plan reduced the risk of virus transmission on busses and inside public transit facilities, minimized service reductions, and ensured that there were no shutdowns throughout the duration of the pandemic. He also worked alongside other local agencies and nonprofits to help fund free rides throughout the school year for all Pueblo K-12 students.
