I’m running for re-election because we are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. We must defeat President Trump in 2020 -- but we can’t stop there. We need to take back the Senate from the GOP and ensure that Mitch McConnell is no longer calling the shots in Washington.
If we keep Illinois blue and elect four more Democrats across the country, we’ll have a Democratic Senate majority that can finally make progress for the American people. We can lower the cost of prescription drugs for American families. We can move forward with commonsense gun safety legislation to save countless lives. We can raise the minimum wage and ensure our economy works for everyone, not just those at the top. And we can take action on climate change.
But if we come up short, we’ll have at least two more years of Mitch McConnell and the Republicans obstructing us every step of the way. That’s what’s at stake in this race. And that’s why I am asking for your support to help me meet this crucial fundraising goal.
