There’s a lot going on these days, and the news cycle moves fast. That’s why every once in a while, I like to look back and reflect on all Democrats have accomplished recently and celebrate our progress.
Just last month, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which will cut prescription drug costs, combat climate change, pay down the deficit, and make corporations pay their fair share in taxes. It’s a huge win for the American people, and it passed without a single Republican vote — which means all these achievements were only possible because Democrats won back the Senate last cycle.
We also got the PACT Act passed after weeks of unnecessary Republican obstruction. My Republican colleagues played games with the health and wellbeing of our nation’s sickest veterans, denying them necessary medical care and benefits. I was proud to finally get that important legislation across the finish line.
We secured the necessary resources to fix Montana’s crumbling roads and bridges from our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We’re helping create good-paying jobs and growing our state’s economy while ensuring our state’s infrastructure will last for decades to come.
These are truly significant wins — ones I was so honored to play a part in — and it’s the stuff like this that got me into politics in the first place. I want to keep delivering on my promise to make life better for the folks of Montana, but I can’t do it without your help.
