I hope everyone across our community had a nice Labor Day weekend! Labor Day is a time to celebrate the hardworking folks in Georgia, and across America, who keep our economy strong - and continue to make the Peach state the best place in the country to do business.

Last week, I joined Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) on a trip to visit the southern border in Arizona. During the trip, we visited the U.S. Border Patrol Tucson Sector Headquarters, U.S. Border Patrol Nogales Station Headquarters, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations Tucson Sector Headquarters, the Nogales-Mariposa Port of Entry, and the DeConcini Port of Entry, and conducted an aerial tour of border terrain and infrastructure with CBP Air and Marine Operations.
It is extremely important to see first-hand the historic surge of illegal immigrants that are overwhelming law enforcement officials and making communities less safe across America. Make no mistake, the unprecedented crisis at our southern border falls directly at the feet of President Biden – who issued more than 90 executive actions on immigration in his first 100 days in office. These damaging policies have hampered the ability of CBP to properly address illegal border crossings.
On Tuesday, we met with CPB Air and Marine Operations Tucson Air Branch for a briefing and joined in an aerial Black Hawk tour. It’s clear that Biden’s open-border policies are devastating communities across America and seeing this ongoing crisis continuing to unfold was absolutely appalling!
On Wednesday, we traveled to the Mariposa Port of Entry in Nogales, AZ for a briefing and tour from agents in CBP's Office of Field Operations. The agents we spoke with discussed what they’re experiencing on the ground every day at the southern border – including seizing unthinkable amounts of narcotics. We also discussed with officials the need for stronger policies and the commitment of House Republicans to secure the border and stop the flow of deadly drugs into our communities.
