Hi John,

Today is a somber day for our country.

The House is expected to vote today on two articles of impeachment against the President for abusing the power of his office and obstruction of Congress. Given the magnitude of this vote, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share my thoughts with you.

I will be voting ‘yes’ on the articles of impeachment.

This is a decision I don’t take lightly, but it is plain to me that the President has engaged in a clear abuse of power and committed an impeachable offense. As a member of the House, I must fulfill my oath to uphold the rule of law and defend the Constitution -- regardless of political consequences.

I ran for Congress not to impeach a president, but to be a voice and advocate for North Texans in Washington. I ran to lower health care and prescription drug costs, invest in our infrastructure and to make sure that every North Texan has the ability to achieve their version of the American Dream. No matter what, I will always fight for the North Texas values we all share.

Thank you and God bless America,

Colin
