Right now, there are only 48 REAL Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are Democrats in name only — and have allowed the filibuster to block major pieces of the Democrats’ agenda.
In fact, they're acting more like the king and queen of the Democrat's agenda — deciding on their own to prevent critical measures from being enacted.

Despite the unexpected passage of the Inflation Reduction Act — which included funding for the IRS to go after rich tax dodgers, Medicare drug price negotiation power, and major investment in clean energy — many pieces of Biden and the Democrats’ agenda fell to the wayside thanks to Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
From voting rights protections and common sense gun control to codifying Roe v. Wade and raising the federal minimum wage, Manchin and Sinema have repeatedly prioritized protecting the filibuster (and their corporate donors) over the will of the American people.
With the midterms fast approaching, we have a chance to de-throne them, and get a Democratic Senate that delivers bold change — doing what it takes to get 50 votes to carve out the filibuster and deliver for the people. Only then can Democrats pass the legislation that the majority of Americans want and need.
So the question for the midterms this November is how do we get to 50 REAL Democrats?
Well, the math isn't complicated, friends. There are numerous Democratic candidates for Senate who have a shot at beating their Republican opponents — and also support ending the filibuster to combat voter suppression, protect abortion rights, get big money out of politics, and do even more in the battle against gun violence and the climate crisis. With just a couple more Democrats in the Senate, Manchin and Sinema’s obstruction won’t matter — and Democrats can make good on their promises, without being blocked by the filibuster.
