When the January 6th hearings were shown in prime time, America tuned in by the millions. And those millions who tuned in were horrified by what they saw. The January 6th hearings which were aired galvanized more viewers than the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving parade— so why were only two of the eight given center stage? Call upon the mainstream media to do its job, and air the January 6th hearings on primetime television, as they were meant to be aired.

The mainstream media wants us to believe that Americans don’t care about the crumbling of our democracy, but it’s simply not true. When fascism is put on television, citizens take note¹. But they can’t know about what isn’t featured. Put the details of the Trump coups in front of everyone, and arm them with information for the elections to come.

Media moguls profit when our democracy crumbles. They marinate in the toxic narrative that Americans don’t care about things like totalitarianism and climate change so they don’t have to cover them. We exist because we know that’s a lie.

act.tv was created to cover what for-profit “news” sites won’t. We’ve covered this from this beginning. But we don’t have the power that mainstream media television does to put the terrifying state of our democracy in everyone’s living room. Put the January 6th hearings on primetime news, where they belong.
