Notably, the President’s remarks included zero mentions of the southern border, inflation, wages, gas, fentanyl, or crime. Make no mistake, Biden is far more interested in dividing our great nation than offering solutions to fix the numerous crises that he’s inflicted upon us and our families. 

In the days since his politically contentious address, Biden has continued to push his insulting and demeaning rhetoric. Whether in prepared remarks or social media posts, the President routinely targets Make America Great Again (MAGA) Republicans – yet fails to define his favorite new line or explain why he’s bound and determined to attack these Americans. The President even declared, “MAGA proposals are a threat to the very soul of this country.”

If Biden is referring to conservative Americans who support America First policies and upholding the U.S. Constitution, then I’m proud to be a MAGA Republican. Moreover, I’m unapologetic in my pursuit to advance “MAGA proposals,” such as reducing inflation, securing our southern border, protecting the unborn, unleashing domestic energy production, defending Second Amendment liberties and First Amendment freedoms, and restoring law and order.  

No amount of ghoulish political theater or dangerously divisive rhetoric will deter me from fighting for the people of Georgia’s Ninth District or for the future of our Republic. I call on President Biden to abandon his obsession with a divide and conquer pathway, reverse course on his radical agenda, and start uniting this country by putting the American people FIRST.

Back in July, over 50 chicken plants that currently participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) waiver program, which grants accelerated line speeds for efficient production, received a notification from the USDA stating that within one month, these plants must participate in a study to retain their line speed waivers. In short, the study provides a third-party group with unlimited and unannounced access to poultry plants and requires plants to submit heaps of data and burdensome paperwork. Failure to participate in this study results in chicken plants slowing production by 25 percent – posing a serious threat to food availability.

The Biden Administration’s line speed waiver rule forces an unnecessary ultimatum on poultry plants, burdening both consumers and workers already battling supply chain disruptions and 40-year high inflation, for the sake of a vague and intrusive third-party study. Since I represent and serve the Poultry Capital of the world, Gainesville, and numerous chicken plants, I proudly led 34 of my colleagues in sending a letter to USDA Secretary Vilsack expressing concerns about and urging the delay of the mandate. Given the adverse effects such a rule would impose on the industry and poultry production, it would behoove Secretary Vilsack to delay the compliance date until the USDA has provided substantive answers regarding the rule and study to Congress. While this matter is ongoing, I am committed to conducting proper Congressional oversight into the USDA's rule and ensuring our poultry plants are able to perform at full capacity without hindrances.

As I’ve shared with you, I’m incredibly concerned about the recent revelations regarding the FBI’s involvement in Facebook’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story, as well as the impact their undemocratic and unconstitutional efforts had on the 2020 election. You may be pleased to know that in response to this troubling new finding, I joined Republicans on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees in demanding access to all communications between Facebook and the FBI. My colleagues and I are committed to uncovering the truth, upholding the First Amendment, and holding both Big Tech and government bureaucrats accountable. Additionally, I’m actively working on legislation to eliminate government-by-proxy censorship, and I look forward to sharing more details and unveiling my bill in the near future.
