John--
I've always believed that a vibrant, healthy community requires good-paying jobs and a thriving, secure middle class -- and the foundation for rebuilding America's middle class is laid by making working men and women the keystone of any initiative to turn our nation around.
As a business owner, I know that if you listen to workers and treat them right with living wages, good benefits, and safe working conditions, we all benefit.
And that's why, as Arkansas's next United States Senator, I will work to empower working people and create jobs that pay.
I support policies that:
- Support a $15 federal minimum wage.
- Guarantee collective bargaining rights for all workers, including government employees, domestic workers, and farmworkers.
- Crackdown on the misclassification of gig workers and other workers as independent contractors.
- Establish wage boards in industries with low union membership to deliver immediate wage gains.
- End federal contracts with employers that pay workers less than $15 an hour without benefits, pay executives more than 150 times more than average workers, and hire workers to replace striking workers or outsource jobs.
- Ban at-will employment, which allows businesses to fire employees at any time and for any reason. This would require companies to fire employees for a “just cause.”
- Protect the Right to Organize Act, the Paycheck Fairness Act, and the Healthy Families Act.
Unfortunately, my opponent refuses to pass a law to raise the minimum wage, leaving many families struggling to make ends meet. It's unacceptable.
Thanks for being a part of the fight to build a brighter future for Arkansas.
Grateful,
Natalie
