Today, we’re proud to announce our official endorsement of Morgan McGarvey for Kentucky’s 3rd Congressional District!

Morgan is a lifelong Louisvillian with a passion for policy and civic engagement. He is a lawyer who represents small businesses and people facing discrimination in Louisville, where he and his wife Chris are raising their three young kids.

Morgan was elected to the Kentucky State Senate a decade ago, and quickly rose to the top. As the Democratic leader, he led the fight against GOP attacks on labor unions, women, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ individuals, and working families.

At the same time, he worked with his colleagues to pass laws that help Kentuckians every day, despite serving in the minority. He passed an insurance mandate to cover vital nutrients for low-birthweight babies, he passed laws protecting victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, and changed the law to allow Louisville's only Historically Black College (HBCU) to restart its teacher training program and reduce tuition costs.

Morgan knows that being an effective legislator means actually showing up and listening to voters. He knows what it takes to build coalitions, stand firm on principle, and figure out how to get good policy through the legislative process.
