John,
Donald Trump lashes out at those who aim to hold him accountable — so naturally, he singled me out personally at his latest rally in Pennsylvania. There were the usual schoolyard insults he tossed my way (“a watermelon head, but no dummy”), but the next part of what he said was chilling:
“These are bad people. They’re trying to destroy our country. And we can’t let it go on any longer... The radical Democrats are engaging in a desperate attempt to keep me from returning to the White House where they know I will clean this mess up again.”
Trump didn’t just come after me — he went after “activist attorney generals,” “local Democrat DAs,” Congressional committees and federal agencies, like the FBI. Basically, anyone and anything that he believes stands in the way of his attaining almost absolute power.
John, this is not just about Trump’s attacks on me personally — it’s bigger than that. This is about defending our democracy. And defeating Trump’s extreme MAGA Republican candidates at the ballot box, even as we protect the integrity of our elections.
