John,
We have so much at stake this November and the elections will make a huge impact in deciding the future of our social programs, economy, and communities. Elections at every level will determine whether to invest in education, housing, health care, nutrition and many other critically needed programs, and whether the right to vote will be protected.
We all need to work together to make sure that voters, especially those with low incomes and people of color, are able to get to the polls and make their voices heard. And we have some exciting opportunities for you to join in the fight.
Tomorrow, Thursday, September 8, we’re once again joining with our friends at VoteRiders to write letters to registered voters to make sure they have all the essential information they need to obtain a voter ID. We will focus on letters to voters in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Wisconsin.
Join us tomorrow, Thursday, September 8 at 7pm ET/4pm PT to educate voters who are most likely to be disenfranchised by voter ID laws.
If phone calls are more your thing, we’re also joining our friends at Florida Rising and the Florida Religious Action Center to call Florida voters to ensure they have everything they need to access the ballot box in November.
Click here to sign up to make phone calls to Florida voters on Thursday, September 8 at 6pm ET/3pm PT!
In 2021, 19 states—including Florida, Georgia, and Arizona—enacted 33 laws that make it more difficult for Americans to vote. These laws disproportionately suppress voter turnout from the most marginalized communities—communities of color, low-income communities, LGBTQ+ communities, and rural communities. These anti-democracy laws are a reaction to the historic, multiracial voter turnout we witnessed in the 2020 presidential election.
We can’t allow the extremists to win. We must do all we can to ensure that every eligible voter has the information and resources they need to make their voices heard at the ballot box in November. Our democracy depends on it.
If you’re unable to volunteer this Thursday, can you chip in $5 to help us expand our reach to more vulnerable communities and ensure they’re able to exercise their Constitutional right to vote in November?
