Allison’s opponent, DeSantis-appointed Republican Bruce Bartlett, was quoted in the Tampa Bay Times as saying, "One of the things that’s made this office so effective is the lack of change.” Allison, a high-profile public defender in the state of Florida, read that quote and knew she had to run against him.

Allison has pledged to never prosecute providers, doctors, or those who access reproductive health services in her jurisdiction. Meanwhile, when Bartlett was asked if he would prosecute women for seeking, providing, or supporting an abortion, he stated, “I don’t make the laws.”

Allison is committed to the pursuit of a safer country and the justice we all deserve, which is why she recently received a glowing recommendation from none other than EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award) winner and ICON, John Legend!
