In school districts across the United States, we've seen the results of
the far-right's relentless attacks on public education - whether through
the proliferation of educational gag orders

[link removed]

on race, gender, and sexual orientation in our public schools, the
harassment of teachers

[link removed]

who refuse to be silent on matters of equity and inclusion, or the

banning of books

that represent the full spectrum of experience that is essential to
understanding our pluralistic world .

By popular demand, Race Forward's H.E.A.L. Together (Honest Education
Action & Leadership)

[link removed]

will host a second public training series

to equip students, educators, and parents to meet these attacks head-on
and to defend and strengthen their public schools by advocating for an
honest, accurate, and fully-funded public education as the foundation
for a just, multiracial democracy.

The first training begins on Saturday, September 17th 3pm ET/ 12pm PST
with The Power of Student Organizing

and continues that following Tuesday on a biweekly basis.

"In order to feel inspired and moved for equity action, I turn to some
great Latinx bands that lift up a call for change and movement! La Bamba
Rebelde by Las Cafeteras

[link removed]

merges the Afro-Latino rhythms of the original Veracruzano song "La
Bamba", with political lyrics of pride to be Mexican-American and a
defender of racial justice."
