John – Governor Tony Evers from Wisconsin here. After Trump's handpicked far-right candidate won the GOP primary to face me in November – the latest numbers have him just HALF A POINT behind me in the polls. That means this race is anyone's game.

Everything from reproductive freedom to the future of our democracy is on the line this fall, and we cannot afford to lose in Wisconsin, in Georgia, in Nevada, or in any of the other critical toss-up races across the country. But so far, we're still short of our $50,000 goal to elect Democratic governors and keep Wisconsin blue – and I haven't seen your gift come through!

I don't want to think about what life would be like for Wisconsin families if we let my opponent win this race. But you can bet that he'll choose his far-right, extremist agenda over families every single time.

Just take reproductive freedom: Today, nearly 60% of Wisconsinites support legal abortion access. But my opponent wants to enforce a draconian abortion ban that was drafted by men in 1849 – a law with no exceptions for rape or incest. He's literally trying to push us backward – not just decades, but centuries.

And unfortunately, there are plenty of Republicans in our gerrymandered state legislature who support his far-right ideologies on abortion access, public schools, our democracy, and more. That's why I vetoed 98 bills in the last legislative session alone. If my opponent wins in November, Wisconsin families will lose their last line of defense against these dangerous, backward policies.

President Biden won this state by less than a percentage point in 2020, and my election this November is shaping up to be just as close – if not even closer. Our race could come down to just a few counties, a few thousand votes, a couple thousand dollars of grassroots resources, or even the actions of just one Democratic activist.
