September is still a wonderful time to look for butterflies! These beautiful insects usually live for only a few weeks as adults, but they make quite an impression while they are in their full glory. Larry Meade will walk us through the common species and help us differentiate some of the trickier look-a-like species. This will be a good refresher for everyone who participated in our summer identification program, and Larry will touch more on fall skippers in this program. Sign up here ([link removed]) . We encourage participants also to consider signing up for our butterfly count ([link removed]) on September 17.
