 Friend, When I say we're competing everywhere to put Democrats in the Senate, I mean everywhere -- including our newest battleground opportunity: Texas. That's why I'm excited to tell you about MJ Hegar -- a former Air Force helicopter pilot who is taking on Senator John Cornyn next fall. Every year, we get a little bit closer to turning a Texas Senate seat blue -- is 2020 our year to get it done?
MJ is a decorated combat veteran and working mother. She has both the courage and independence to put Texas first and is running on the issues that matter most to Texans: making health care and prescription drugs more affordable, protecting coverage for Texans with pre-existing conditions, and taking action to address climate change. And that's important because Texas's current senator, John Cornyn, is spending most of his time advocating not for his constituents, but for Donald Trump. He's spending his time in the Senate parroting White House talking points -- he says any resistance to Trump's agenda is "all about politics, folks."
