Right now, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is attempting to push a plan through the Senate that would fasttrack the Mountain Valley Pipeline and other fossil fuel projects— all with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s support.
Communities in West Virginia have been fighting the completion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline for years. If the project is completed, it would add tens of millions of tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution every year for decades to come. It’s unacceptable, John.
We can’t let the fossil fuel industry build whatever polluting project they want, wherever they want. That’s completely antithetical to historic climate action! Whether you’re from Appalachia, part of a frontline community, or live in the D.C. metro area, we need all hands on deck to protect ALL our communities, our voices, and our climate.
