The USPS Board of Governors still hasn’t fired Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, more than two years after his appointment by Donald Trump.

Dear Friend,

You might remember that almost a year ago, Katie Porter eviscerated the failed leadership of Louis DeJoy at the USPS and called for him to be fired by the USPS Board of Governors.

Katie Porter is still right. Yet Louis DeJoy is still the postmaster general today.

Now, despite the passage of the Postal Service Reform Act, which allocated $50 billion in additional funding over the next 10 years, DeJoy has announced he still plans to raise postage prices at “uncomfortable rates” and fire 50,000 workers.(1)

President Biden can fix this by nominating the final two members of the USPS Board of Governors needed to fire Louis DeJoy. Make sure he knows you’re counting on him to act by sending a direct message now.

CONTACT PRESIDENT BIDEN

Before Trump appointed him to postmaster general, Louis DeJoy was a Trump megadonor.

He has fought every attempt to transition to a green fleet of electric mail trucks, despite concerns raised by the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency about the impact of purchasing new gas guzzling vehicles on climate change. DeJoy is intentionally hobbling Biden’s pledge requiring that the federal fleet be 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2035.

DeJoy is also currently under investigation for campaign-finance violations and conflicts of interest. No wonder, at an event hosted by the right-wing American Enterprise Institute, he introduced himself as "the evil postmaster general." This level of corruption is something that should get you fired, not something to brag about.

President Biden gave Mitch McConnell a say in who the previous Board of Governors nominees were. We cannot let that happen again. President Biden has shown he will listen to public pressure about appointees now, and we need to take advantage. Two more vacancies are opening, and President Biden must listen to the public and appoint Governors who will stand up to DeJoy’s destructive leadership and advocate for the USPS as a public service.

Send your direct message now.

We can’t stand by and watch as Louis DeJoy’s sabotage continues to hurt one of our nation’s oldest and most loved systems.

Thanks for taking action to save the post office today.
