For refugee families rebuilding their lives in America, it can be incredibly challenging to adapt to life in a new country, culture and language.

At Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, we help make that transition easier by making sure they are greeted at the airport, brought to a home or apartment prepared for them in advance–stocked with modest furniture, culturally familiar foods, toiletries, and all of the basic amenities of an American home. We strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment, particularly for children -- through age-appropriate gifts such as books, toys and athletic equipment.
