Hi John –
In 2016, I ran for the U.S. Senate for the first time. Heading in, Democrats knew that the landscape would be a difficult one to win in. But my team was able to buck national trends and deliver New Hampshire a victory in an otherwise sobering and awful election.

Take a look at this picture on the campaign trail:

Barack Obama and Maggie Hassan hold there linked hands up in front of a crowd of supporters.

When thinking back to the 2016 election, I would be remiss not to mention the 1,017 votes that got me to where I am today.
If each and every person who helped by donating, knocking doors, or calling voters hadn’t done what they did for our campaign, we would have lost.
But thanks to those 1,017 votes, I was able to be the deciding vote in 2017 to save the Affordable Care Act, protecting President Obama's legacy and saving health care for millions of Americans.

Unbelievably, the stakes are higher now than they were six years ago.

We're days away from finding out which far-right extremist will be my Republican opponent, and everyone will be watching to see if we have what it takes to buck national trends yet again.

Knowing what the margins in my last race were, I can’t win – and protect Democrats’ Senate majority – without you. Yes, you, John. You’re a critical part of our plan for holding this seat, John, so I hope I can count on you.

With time running out, please donate $3 or whatever you can to help us win in New Hampshire and stop Mitch McConnell from regaining a Republican majority in the Senate.

With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
