Yesterday was Labor Day, and as many took the day off it serves as an important reminder of how far we have come for America’s workers.

I’m proud to share how we’re supporting laborers in Washington, PA-05, and beyond. Hardworking men and women built this country and helped establish the safety and work practices many of us enjoy to this day. We owe them our respect and commitment.

2022 has been a landmark year for union organizing. Workers in every corner of America are standing up to unfair working conditions and wages. As members of Congress, it is our responsibility to make sure workers have legislative support to back up their organizing.

House Democrats stand firmly on the side of workers. Here are just some of what we were able to pass so far during this session:

➕ Passed the PRO Act to hold employers accountable for violating workers’ rights

➕ Increased funding for worker protection programs

➕ Committed to combating age discrimination in the workplace

➕ Passed the Paycheck Fairness Act, to update the Equal Pay Act
