Hi Jay,

Growing your audience is hard! It takes a ton of time and effort (already in short supply), and it's one of the top challenges creators face.

So today, we're sharing how to cultivate more fans without getting burnt out — with advice from the winner and three runners-up of our first Podia Creator Fellowship.

👍 Choose a channel that you enjoy.

Following whatever the crowd does on social media is tempting.

But Valeria Hernández, a wellness coach (and first Podia Creator Fellowship winner) who focuses on plant-based nutrition, recommends finding what feels good to you.

"Everyone's on TikTok right now," she points out, "There are so many health coaches there, and I felt like I was missing out. Then I joined the platform, and it was not my vibe."

She decided to ditch TikTok and go all in on email newsletters.

Learn how Valeria listens to her intuition to make her business unique.

🤔 Make a marketing plan

Joseph D'Amico of Flex Lessons took his classical piano teaching online, pivoting to a hybrid course and community model. To attract new students, he had to look beyond his existing in-person roster.

"Figure out how you're going to drive traffic," he recommends. People won't discover you by magic.

Joseph writes SEO-focused articles, posts videos to grow his YouTube channel, and regularly connects with people on Reddit.

Find out why Joseph decided to focus on just one audience.

🥞 Batch your social content creation

Founder of Advocacy Alley, Jessica Wilson, knows consistency is the key to audience growth.

"If you’re trying to build a following, they have to see you very often," she says. "So I started to find ways to batch content."

Jessica splits one idea into multiple posts. Using this method, she can be active on three channels, despite a packed schedule creating her first course on medical self-advocacy while dealing with a full-time job and family.

Get inspired by how Jessica overcame her social media fears.

🎨 Repurpose existing content

Get off the hamster wheel of churning out new material, advises Veronica Green, an early years educational consultant and founder of Cultivating Confidence.

"As a creative person, it’s too draining," she says. "I’m all about repurposing content."

Here's a sample repurposing workflow: turn a popular blog post into a YouTube video → embed video in the post → create clips, quotes, and images from video / post → share on social media → include in an email.

Take a closer look at Veronica's marketing approach.

These actions may be simple but they're the kind of to-dos that are easy to overlook when there's so much on your plate. I hope you find these creator tips helpful!

Best,
Spencer Fry, founder and CEO of Podia
