Working at a hospital, I’ve had to see too many patients—too many innocent children—suffering from gunshot wounds. It should not be normal for a pediatrician to take care of kids who have been shot, but for doctors like me, it is.
This past weekend and yesterday, three shootings rocked the Lowcountry—including one in our district. Every time a shooting happens, it floods me with memories of the gun violence victims I’ve seen and sparks outrage that in regions like ours, our representative voted against every common-sense gun violence prevention measure that’s gone through Congress.
It’s heartbreaking and enraging to see gun violence destroy families and harm our children while politicians like Nancy Mace ignore this incredibly important issue, proudly labeling herself a “Second Amendment Girl.”
We need a leader who won’t be afraid to stand up for our future generations and public safety. If you agree, add your name to my petition before midnight tonight→
There’s no reason why we should live like this. No one should have to be afraid to go to a mall, church, school, or any public place because of a lack of common-sense gun legislation.
Nancy Mace voted against the Safer Communities Act which is now the first law to prevent gun violence in decades, apparently too busy flaunting her NRA endorsement to give a damn about what happens to Lowcountry families. This is why we need to take action.
Sign on today if you agree that we need a representative who will fight to protect families and children from gun violence→
Thank you,
Dr. Annie
