Dear friend,

When folks ask me why I do the work I do, I always tell them the same thing: to strengthen our democracy.

Our volunteers send handwritten letters to potential voters across the country encouraging them to participate in key elections because democracy works best when we all get involved.  

And this year, there’s a lot at stake. From Medicaid expansion to reproductive rights to critical infrastructure improvements to gun violence prevention, critical issues that will affect all our lives are on the ballot. 

Thankfully, Vote Forward letters have been proven to turn out voters. By writing letters—especially to voters in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, or Texas—you can encourage voters to turn out in the elections where policies on these issues and more will be decided at the ballot box:

Our work to encourage more voters to participate in our democracy becomes more urgent every day, particularly as states across the country attempt to make it harder for many people to vote. Efforts to institute strict voter ID laws, limit voting by mail and early voting, and draw unfair districts all present threats to our democratic fabric. 

By writing to voters, you’re taking a meaningful step to push back against these anti-democratic impulses. When more of us write, we can reach even more voters, and help sustain a just and vibrant democracy.
