A PAC called the Conservative Majority Fund raised nearly $10 million since 2012 by telling donors it would:

Get Obama removed from the 2012 ballot.

Help check voter rolls for fraud.

Lead an impeachment drive after Obama won re-election.

It did none of those. Rather, FEC records show almost all the money went for calls to donors like Mike Miller, a jeweler in Barrington, Illinois, who gave $500.

“At the time they called, it seemed like such an important thing,” Miller said in a phone interview. “I was assuming they were legitimate.” When told about the group’s lack of spending on disqualifying Obama from the ballot, he said, “If they did this, and didn’t use it for intended purposes, I want my money back.”
