Team,
I want to tell you a quick story about the difference between my campaign and Mike DeWine’s – and why I urgently need your help to win this race.
I grew up in a union family. I’m the daughter of my dad who was an autoworker and my mom who worked at the laundromat behind our house to help make ends meet when my dad got laid off. I live in a pretty regular Ohio house – it’s where we filmed one of our ads. (This is my kitchen, featuring my dog, Louis!)
My opponent is a millionaire with a personal mansion – one that literally has its own Wikipedia page. He doesn't understand what it’s like to deal with rising costs and stagnant wages.
He’s not going to bed worried about how he’ll pay for groceries and rent or a mortgage. But he does have a slew of rich corporate friends bankrolling his campaign to rig the rules against working people.
These are the very same corporate friends he’s spent his years in office cozying up to, through corruption and pay-to-play schemes that have left Ohioans on the hook for billions of dollars in corporate bailouts. They’re not only out-of-touch with how most Ohioans are living, they’re expecting that Ohio taxpayers will foot the bill.
We can change all that when we win this year – new polling shows us in a virtual tie with Mike DeWine. But with outside spending coming in fast, we’re playing catch-up to ensure we have the resources to stay competitive.
Our campaign relies on those $5 and $10 and $25 donations from people like you who are ready to work together for change. Will you pitch in whatever you can between my campaign and the Ohio Democratic Party so that we can reach as many voters as possible about our vision for Ohio – one where all, not just the wealthy and well-connected, can succeed?
Onward,
Nan
The Ohio Democratic Party is working year-round to elect Democrats who will fight for working families all over the Buckeye State. We have the chance to flip not only Ohio's open U.S. Senate seat, but to elect a Democratic governor as well. Will you pitch in $10 or more right away? Every dollar you give helps build a blue Ohio.
