Dear friends,

Soon the Jewish people will celebrate Hanukkah, and Christians will celebrate Christmas. This year the two feasts will almost coincide. In both feasts light plays an important role. And in both feasts the light is a miracle of God. Often people celebrate Christmas without thinking about Israel. However the Light of Christmas has everything to do with Israel.

Isaiah says: 'For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder (…)
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom”

(Isaiah 9:6-7)

One day the kingdom of peace will be established in Jerusalem. When the Messiah will sit on the throne of His father David, and His kingdom will extend to the ends of the earth.

We wish this peace wholeheartedly to all people on earth. And so we keep on proclaiming this good message of peace.

We wish you a joyful Hanukkah and a blessed Christmas,

Rev Cornelis Kant
Executive Director
