WOBURN -- Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons congratulated Whitman Republican Geoff Diehl on his gubernatorial primary win Tuesday night and said it's now time for Republicans to unify and band together to defeat Attorney General Maura Healey and the Democrats in November.
"The fact that Maura Healey picked a union hall in Boston for her primary night party is ironic, because she has proven herself time and again to be no friend to the hardworking taxpayers of Massachusetts," Lyons said. "The radical left's priorities are completely out of touch with the working class, and the voters know this.
"Maura Healey, Secretary of State Bill Galvin, and now the Democrats' candidate for attorney general, Andrea Campbell, are all the same people who've ruled over Massachusetts in the past, it's time to turn the page on the radical left and look to the future."
Lyons said he's excited for Republicans running in statewide races, including attorney general candidate Jay McMahon, secretary of the commonwealth candidate Rayla Campbell, candidate for state auditor Anthony Amore, and that the party will be "working overtime" to elect them and others running for legislative seats.
"We are full throttle from now through Nov. 8," Lyons said.
