John,

2019 was an incredible year, especially for veterans and their families.

Our mission is to continue serving our country, even after taking off the uniform. This year more than ever, our activists have taken that mission to heart, fighting to defend the freedoms we sacrificed for in uniform.

Here’s a look back at our biggest moments from 2019:

• The Department of Veterans Affairs began implementing major pieces of the VA MISSION Act, overhauling access to non-VA medical care for veterans. Hundreds of you submitted comments to the VA, letting the department know how more access to care would improve your lives.
• CVA’s annual Vets on the Hill event was our most successful visit yet. Our staff took 133 meetings on Capitol Hill in just two days. We shared the military community’s unique perspective on VA care, spending and foreign policy.
• We ended the year with our Honor Their Sacrifice campaign – 60 days of encouraging lawmakers to honor the sacrifice of veterans and their families when creating policy. Tens of thousands across the nation sent emails to their lawmakers reinforcing the need to honor our veterans with policy decisions.

I’m so grateful for all the hard work you’ve done this year. None of these accomplishments would have happened without you.

I can’t wait to see what the new year will bring.

From all of us at Concerned Veterans for America, we wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

In Service,
