Team,
Accountability and following the rule of law should not be partisan, political issues—they should be common sense. And no matter your ideology or which party you align with, we should all be able to agree that crimes as severe as conspiring to overturn a free and fair election or stealing top secret government documents must be held accountable, no matter who commits them. But unfortunately, many Republicans’ response to the FBI’s raid of Former President Trump’s residence for his illegal handling of sensitive government records reject that notion.
Stacey recently went on MSNBC to discuss the ongoing investigations into Trump and much more in an interview with Ali Velshi. Watch the interview here, and then donate to help Stacey continue to hold Republicans accountable now!
The facts alone leave no doubt that Trump is guilty of significant criminal wrongdoing. But as Stacey said, Republicans’ sudden quiet after the FBI’s search warrant affidavit was unsealed only further underscores that, and highlights their blatant unwillingness to support transparency and accountability, even in the most extreme circumstances.
Here’s the deal, team: while Republicans are busy spreading conspiracy theories and crying foul about their former leader being in deep trouble, Stacey and her Democratic colleagues have been laser-focused on getting to the bottom of January 6th and Trump’s mishandling of government documents, every step of the way. We’re not playing political games, we’re doing what’s right for our democracy and for the American people.
In times as divisive as these, we need leaders like Stacey who will put country over party and work hard on behalf of our democratic values and on behalf of everyday Americans, not act only out of self-interest. Can you chip in today to help re-elect Stacey so she can continue her work to protect our democracy, hold Republicans accountable, and unite our country?
