Team,
After I ran an upset election in 2018, a GOP colleague told me afterward: “I knew you were going to win because of all of your yard signs!” In 2020, when we had to completely change the way we campaigned, I used to tell people yard signs were the best way to visibly show your support for a candidate. Kind of like your own personal billboard. That remains true now that I’m running to represent the 3 additional counties that make up Michigan’s new 7th district.
How do they help? First off, it really does help show the strength of a campaign when there are yard signs lining the streets. Particularly in a Republican-leaning district like ours. In some communities, putting a Democratic yard sign out is a controversial act. And for many Independents and Republicans, seeing their friends support a Democrat may give them the push to also consider splitting their vote.
And people take them seriously. We’ve witnessed more than one “yard sign war,” as we call them, between two neighbors on different sides of the aisle – who engage in a bit of friendly competition to see who can fit the most signs in their front yard.
And, since we’re number nerds on Team Slotkin, I thought I’d break down some quick yard sign numbers:
It costs about $5 to produce one of the standard yard signs you’re used to seeing during election season. We like to make it as easy as possible for folks to get their hands on these, so if you’re looking for a yard sign you can request one here [[link removed]] – and a member of Team Slotkin will arrange a pickup time, or even deliver it right to your door.
If you live in or around the new 7th, you may also have seen our “jumbo” yard signs popping up on the side of the road. They are huge, and are great for busy intersections or along our many rural highways.

These large signs cost approximately $92 to make and distribute to the wonderful folks willing to essentially display a giant billboard on their property.
So, in a way, sending $5-$100 my way gives someone in the new 7th district a yard sign to show their support – a downright value! Consider chipping in today to help spread my name throughout the new 7th. [[link removed]]
