John,

Last week, Democrat Mary Peltola defeated Sarah Palin in one of the most shocking special election upsets in political history, becoming the first Native person and woman to represent Alaska in Congress.

So, how did she manage to pull off a win against a Trump-picked firebrand like Sarah Palin? Courage and kindness.

Mary ran a relentlessly upbeat campaign centered on kindness, compassion, and honesty – something that we’re also doing here in Vermont. Like me, she believes that respect is a fundamental part of getting things done, no matter how different your views may be from those of your colleagues. It’s about results – not rhetoric.

After Mary’s stunning victory in last Wednesday’s special election, Cook Political Report just moved Alaska’s November Congressional race to a toss-up!

Let’s show them what courageous, kind, pro-choice women can accomplish in Congress: Pitch in to $10 to be automatically split between my campaign and Mary Peltola to help courage and kindness win in November! [[link removed]]

Since Roe was overturned, Democrats have outperformed President Biden’s 2020 performance by an average of nearly 7 points across 5 special elections in 2022.

In a district that Trump won by ten points in 2020, Mary delivered a two-point victory in a statewide election – giving Democrats another seat in Congress in a year when our majority is razor-thin.

Democrats are competing and winning in districts that were written-off as “too red” just months ago – and they’re winning on a platform of courage and unapologetic pro-choice policies. We LOVE to see it.

John, will you split a $10 contribution between Mary Peltola’s campaign to protect Democrats’ newest House seat in Alaska and our campaign for the Democratic majority? In a race like Mary’s, your dollars will go a long way. [[link removed]]
