John,
To all the workers out there — we hope you enjoyed a joyful, restful Labor Day.
At WFP, we’re fighting for a future in which working people — paid, unpaid, acknowledged and not — are valued, protected, fairly compensated, and treated with dignity.
No matter where you work or what you do, we believe that you deserve a safe working environment, a living wage, guaranteed healthcare, and ample opportunity for rest and leisure.
And we understand how important it is to revisit our past in order to chart the future in which the above is commonplace.
That’s why this Wednesday, September 7th at 7:30PM ET/4:30 PM PT we’re hosting a virtual teach-in where we’ll hear from expert speakers about some of the untold stories of labor movement history. Will you join us?
RSVP
During the event, we’ll be joined by Lane Windham, author of Knocking on Labor's Door, who will be sharing her research highlighting the struggles and contributions of those historically left out of labor narratives.
This will be an opportunity for folks to revisit the radical roots of the Labor movement and reflect on the power of worker solidarity.
And at a time when we’re seeing a new resurgence to nationwide unionization efforts — with workers at some of the largest employers in the nation standing up to corporate greed and saying enough is enough — it’s critical to draw lessons from the history that’s guiding this moment.
So join WFP members nationwide this Wednesday, September 7th at 7:30PM ET for our virtual teach-in as we gather to learn about this shared history and where we go from here.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
