John, I've said it before: Over the past 30 years, the cost of college has increased by 225%. To afford the cost of higher education, it's become more important than ever to start saving for college early.
That's why the DE529 Education Savings Plan exists, and that's why this year we incentivized parents to start saving before their children reach the age of six by rolling out the DE529 Education Savings Plan match.
Programs like this match program give parents a reason to start saving for college right away–because everyone in our state deserves access to the highest quality higher education institutions. Delawareans should have access to every opportunity they plan to pursue. And that's why my office is prioritizing financial literacy, financial planning, and financial security.
But we can't keep this momentum going for another four years without your help–and that's why I'm reaching out today. John, will you support our efforts to make saving for college easier and more affordable for everyone in our state by donating to our reelection campaign?
This month and every month, we need to encourage our communities to start saving early for college–and we need to take steps as a state to make saving for college possible for every Delawarean. As long as I'm in office, you can count on me to do exactly that.
Thank you for your support. It's an honor to have you on our team.
Sincerely,
Treasurer Colleen Davis
