With the Supreme Court's open hostility to 50 years of hard-fought gains
at the national level, more battles will be ultimately decided by state
governors.

In Texas and elsewhere that means a stark choice. CNN reports that across
the country, "More than half the GOP governor nominees have questioned or
denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election." Election denial goes
hand-in-hand with extreme positions on climate denial, abortion, civil
rights, voter suppression, guns, and more.

But the New York Times reports that in contrast, "Beto O’Rourke stresses
broadly popular positions: expanding Medicaid, canceling statewide school
assessment tests, cutting property taxes, legalizing marijuana."

2022 is a tipping point. Four years ago, Republicans won governorships in
solidly blue states like Massachusetts, Maryland, and Vermont! This year,
we must win blue states -- and could elect rockstars like Beto in
traditionally red states.
