Friends,
5 years ago this week, Trump killed the DACA program. Trump’s Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, made the announcement on September 5th, 2017 that no more applications would be accepted for DACA-eligible youth.
But that wasn’t the end of the story.
Immediately after, our communities sprung into action. Undocumented leaders and immigrant rights allies filed lawsuits to challenge the decision. Our fight went all the way up to the Supreme Court — and we won.
The immigrant youth-led team at United We Dream Action was a critical part of the movement whose resilience kept the DACA renewal process open.
And as a new wave of politicized attacks threaten the future of the DACA program, our resilience will be what wins us permanent protections for all immigrants living under the fear of detention or deportation.
Will you make a contribution to join our fight? The future of DACA is uncertain, which is why the fight for permanent protections has never been more urgent.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is set to rule any day now on the legality of the DACA program which could leave us without true protection.
Our opponents aren’t shy about their intent to detain and deport immigrants, which is why we’re demanding our elected officials take bold protective action to meet the urgency of this moment.
That’s exactly what we will keep fighting for, and we’re grateful to have you as part of our team.
Greisa, United We Dream Action
