Governor DeSantis Announces Lawsuit Against Biden’s Lengthy Delay of Florida Importing Canadian Prescription Drugs

Governor DeSantis announced a lawsuit against Biden’s FDA in response to their unreasonable delay of more than 630 days in approving Florida’s proposal for a Canadian Prescription Drug Importation Program. Nearly 21 months ago, the Agency for Health Care Administration submitted to the FDA the plan to safely import cheaper drugs from Canada to save Floridians $150 million annually.

“Florida has been ready to deliver cheaper prescription drugs to those that need them for nearly two years,” Governor DeSantis said. “The lack of transparency by the Biden administration during the approval process, and failure to provide records on the importation proposal, is costing Floridians who are facing rising prices across the board due to inflation.”

“Governor DeSantis and I are fighting to lower prescription drug costs, but Washington bureaucrats are blocking our efforts,” Attorney General Ashley Moody said.

Governor DeSantis Awards $68 Million for Electric Transit Buses

Governor DeSantis continues the state’s efforts to modernize public transit and reduce air pollution caused by diesel emissions. Through the Volkswagen settlement, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is awarding more than $68 million to buy 227 electric transit buses in 13 counties.

In addition, DEP awarded grants to seven school districts to purchase 218 electric school buses. Electric buses reduce harmful emissions and improve Florida’s air quality.

“This funding will help lower emissions while also bringing our transit bus fleets to more modern standards,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “This is a win-win for air quality and advancing the state’s efforts to bolster growing electric vehicle usage.”

Governor Ron DeSantis Announces SunPass Savings

Governor DeSantis announced the launch of “SunPass Savings,” a new toll discount for Florida’s Turnpike System and toll facilities owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This six-month program began Thursday, September 1, and is estimated to save drivers $38 million. Additionally, Governor DeSantis called on the Legislature to take action during next year’s legislative session so more Florida families can benefit from toll relief.

“This program will help frequent SunPass customers keep more money in their pockets during a time of growing inflation,” Governor DeSantis said.

The SunPass Savings program will give:

- Customers with at least 40 paid transactions monthly a 20 percent credit on their SunPass account;

- Customers with 80 or more paid transactions will receive a 25 percent credit each month.

- On average, customers using FDOT Turnpike facilities for their daily commute spend $50 per month on tolls.

Governor DeSantis Awards $4.6 Million for Infrastructure Improvements

Governor Ron DeSantis awarded a total of $4.6 million to the City of Fort Pierce and Suwannee County for infrastructure and community improvements.

“In Florida, we are dedicated to making strategic investments in our communities that support economic growth and enhance the lives of hard-working Floridians,” Governor DeSantis said.

- The City of Fort Pierce received $2.7 million for infrastructure improvements and the redevelopment of the city’s historic downtown area to spur economic growth and bring jobs closer to home. These projects will support an estimated 1,350 total jobs in the Fort Pierce area.

- Suwannee County received $1.9 million to support business growth at the 500-acre Catalyst Site industrial park by expanding water distribution and treatment facilities to support commercial businesses. This will add an estimated 1,040 jobs in high-demand fields like manufacturing and distribution.

“Florida prioritizes infrastructure improvements in communities because when Florida communities succeed, our state economy thrives,” Governor DeSantis said. “As Florida’s economy outpaces the nation by virtually every measure, we will continue to seed opportunities for Floridians that foster economic success for generations to come.”

Attorney General Moody Forces U.S. Border Chief to Admit Biden’s Policies are Fueling Immigration Crisis

Attorney General Moody continues to uncover damning evidence to hold President Joe Biden accountable for the crisis at the border. Last year, Attorney General Moody sued the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies to force Biden to follow public safety immigration laws, and recently deposed U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz.

Under oath, Ortiz testified that the Biden administration purposely reduced the detention capacity of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and narrowed removal options. Ortiz said these changes forced the patrol to release hundreds of thousands of immigrants into the interior, even though they were likely inadmissible into the United States. During the deposition, Chief Ortiz agreed that Biden’s policies caused the unprecedented surge at the border.

“After the Biden administration denied that they were engaged in catch-and-release, and that they were responsible for the historic surge at our southern border, Florida got the Chief of Border Patrol to admit, under oath, the truth,” Attorney General Moody said. “The Biden administration caused the surge, made the border less safe, and is flagrantly violating the very federal laws they swore to uphold.”

Lieutenant Governor Nuñez to New York Governor: Republicans are Already Leaving Your State

<[link removed]>

Lieutenant Governor Nuñez was on Newsmax TV this week responding to Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul telling Republicans to get out of her state and move to Florida.

"Well, I have news for her: Her residents have left in droves — and she hasn't been paying attention — and they've come to the free state of Florida, where you can actually work, own a business, make a living, send your kids to school, reject the biomedical state, worship your creator," Núñez told Eric Bolling’s show. "They've already left her state and they've come to the free state of Florida where we represent everybody.”
