Dear John,
I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. My campaign was busy! I started the “weekend” early, on Thursday evening at the Colonial Heritage Club in Williamsburg, speaking with a lively and supportive standing-room-only crowd. Friday night, we were at the Chesterfield County Fair, where I spoke with many, many voters. Saturday, I attended a meet & greet in Midlothian with Virginia State Senator Hashmi and community activist Elijah Lee while the rest of my staff co-hosted a very successful joint canvass launch and event with 5th Congressional District candidate, Josh Throneburg. Sunday, I attended church in Northumberland, and the Lancaster Dems Labor Day Picnic. Yesterday, I celebrated Labor Day by attending the IBEW Local 666 Picnic and Congressman (3rd District) Bobby Scott’s annual Labor Day Picnic.
Being present at these events strengthened my resolve to help the working people of the First District and Virginia. Labor Day Weekend marked an end to a very successful summer for my campaign.
Today marks what I plan to be a very successful final two months of my campaign to win Virginia’s First Congressional District seat. I’ve enjoyed seeing pictures of friends and family sending their children off to school for their first day over the past couple of weeks, including today. Unlike my opponent, I support our public schools 100% and will not seek to privatize them. My wife and brother are public school educators and I am so proud of them and their service. Our public school educators need better compensation, more resources to do their jobs, and better working conditions.
Can you help us to embark on the final two months of the campaign with the resources we need to win on November 8th and help save our public schools?
