Every day, my team and I have meaningful conversations with the people of my district, hearing what matters to them most, and showing up—bringing the representation and leadership to this office that Ann Wagner is simply not capable of.
On the trail and talking to voters at the doors, I am sometimes told "you are so courageous" for running for office, but I don’t believe that’s the right way to think about it. The real courage lies with the people who get involved. Often juggling the demands of work, careers, and family, they choose to take on the sometimes uncomfortable task of talking to complete strangers about why a candidate matters to them, and opening up in personal ways to fight for their values and what they believe in.
Even though I don’t like to constantly ask people for money, this task is easy when I think of the hundreds of folks who live in this district who are giving so much of themselves to make change happen this year. So I will make this direct: Can you make sure we do everything we can to honor our courageous volunteers and advocates?
