Believe me, John, the last thing I want to be doing right now is writing to you about Kari Lake.

But with early voting beginning in a matter of weeks, I want to be upfront with you about the stakes in my race for Arizona governor.

Kari Lake has spent her entire campaign pushing the Big Lie, cozying up to QAnon conspiracy theorists, and appearing with Donald Trump at various events across the country.

What’s even scarier? The extreme steps she’s promised to take if elected governor.

Kari Lake fully supports criminalizing abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. She’s suggested that everyday Arizonans should be able to own rocket launchers, weapons of war designed to cause mass destruction. She’s supported ending early voting in our state — a system that has worked securely here for decades, allowing more folks to make their voices heard.

If Kari Lake becomes our next governor, she will do nothing to protect our democracy, defend our fundamental rights, or make our state a better place to live, work, and raise a family. She will only make things worse.

We simply can’t let that happen, John. But I know what I’m up against: National Republicans are spending millions of dollars in Arizona, Trump will stay involved in our race, and I’m sure to face more dangerous lies and attacks.
