Blumenthal Allowed CT Schoolchildren to Fall Behind   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 6, 2022 CONTACT : [email protected] Blumenthal Allowed CT Schoolchildren to Fall Behind GREENWICH, CT - Late last week, the National Center for Education Statistics released data that showed students have fallen significantly behind in key school subjects like math and English since the pandemic. The study indicates lower-performing schoolchildren were impacted the most, with Black students scoring 13% lower in math compared to white students whose scores decreased by 5%. U.S. Senate candidate Leora Levy called out Blumenthal, whose votes fueled learning loss in Connecticut schools. He also remained silent as radical school boards kept schools shut at the request of teachers’ union leaders, putting politics before kids. According to Leora Levy, “I am fighting for Connecticut families, for parents, and to ensure every child has an opportunity to achieve their own version of the American Dream. Meanwhile, Dick Blumenthal ignored parents and the needs of Connecticut kids, and now we’re seeing the results. Career politicians have failed our children, and they are falling further and further behind as a result. Parents know I am fighting for their kids’ future, but they cannot say the same about my opponent.” On February 4, 2021, Blumenthal voted against an amendment to limit COVID-19 relief for schools that do not reopen even after teachers were vaccinated. On March 6, 2021, Blumenthal voted against an amendment to incentivize schools to reopen. On March 6, 2021, Blumenthal voted against an amendment to withhold federal funding from schools that failed to submit a reopening plan. In August 2021, Blumenthal voted against an amendment to support full-time, in-person learning in elementary and secondary schools. “Dick’s record speaks for itself. Unlike Blumenthal, I stand with parents and Connecticut families”, said Levy. ICYMI, check out Leora’s press conference last week, where she demanded an investigation regarding discrimination and the indoctrination of students in Connecticut schools. ###   About Leora I am running to take on the far-left whose policies will make our country look more like the Communist Cuba my family and I escaped in 1960 than the United States we have all known and loved. I am running for Senate to lead the fight for freedom. Joe Biden isn't on the ballot in November, but his policies are. The way to beat back Biden is to beat Dick Blumenthal, and I am the political outsider who can get it done.
