Dear Friend,
As the school year begins, many low-income families are still struggling to put food on the table. With emergency COVID-19 funding expiring and grocery bills skyrocketing, families facing hunger across the country need your support.
The upcoming White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, Hunger, and Health will provide a historic opportunity to create and implement a comprehensive plan to, by 2030, end domestic hunger, food insecurity, and nutritional insecurity, and ensure that nutritious food is affordable, convenient, and available for all Americans. Hunger Free America is working to make sure that the voice of those facing hunger is the heard at the conference.
Today at 1:00 pm EST, US House Rules Committee Chair McGovern and Hunger Free America CEO Joel Berg will release a groundbreaking survey and report that demonstrates how increased food and cash aid helped low-income families during the pandemic. As the Biden Administration and Congress are continuing negotiations on whether to extend pandemic-era food and cash aid expansions, this new data demonstrates how vital they were for struggling families.
You can join the event here. If you are unable to join, we will be sharing a recording of the event later in the week. To keep up with Hunger Free America’s efforts at the White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, Hunger, and Health, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
Your continued support has been integral to our vital work during the most acute hunger crisis our nation has faced in a generation. On behalf of Hunger Free America and hungry families across the nation, we sincerely thank you for your commitment to ensuring everyone in our country has access to affordable, nutritious food.
Best,
The Hunger Free America Team
