Dear Friend,

GOP strategists have named Rep. Katie Porter is "a top Republican target"
in the battle for control of the House.(1)

And the terrifying and sobering reality is the Republican Party is favored
to win control of the House in November. In fact, Republicans have a 75%
chance of winning the House, according to the nation's preeminent
political forecaster.(2)

This is a party whose members are fomenting right-wing political violence,
after the FBI recovered 11 boxes of classified documents from Trump's
Mar-a-Lago home, including nuclear secrets.(3)

More could not be on the line: our bodily autonomy, our freedoms, and our
very democracy.

Rep. Porter's Orange County district is considered "a bellwether for
national politics."(4) If she's defeated, experts say that it would be "a
harbinger of a red wave."(5)

We simply cannot let that happen.

Rep. Porter is fighting for abortion access, freedom to love who we want,
corporate accountability for inflation, and so much more. We need to fight
for her and our other progressive champions. Together, we can defeat
Republicans and help Rep. Porter win--just as we did in 2020.

That's why Courage California is conducting polling in Orange County in
order to hone our message, and then we are going into communities to
convince voters just what's at stake this election. But our ambitious
plans depend on what donations we can raise right now.

The truth is that campaigning is hugely expensive. From polling costs to
advertisements for our Courage Voter Guide to printed materials for our
on-the-ground canvassing, our budget is being stretched to its limits.
