As decisions about abortion access shift to individual states, we know that the state-level races have become more important than ever. But, we want to make sure pro-choice Americans understand that there are a significant amount of anti-choice “Democrats” at the state level – especially in blue states like Massachusetts – who are up for re-election TODAY.

According to NBC, “Rhode Island received an "F" grade from NARAL Pro-Choice America in 2016 and has a General Assembly run almost entirely by Right to Life-backed Democrats.” And, in Massachusetts, a number of pro-choice women are running to oust State Representatives who have been taking disappointing votes on the issue of choice.

Our candidate Nichole Mossalam’s opponent, Paul Donato, is just one example of a state rep who has voted against abortion rights throughout his time in office. He has the highest rankings from “Massachusetts Citizens for Life” (an anti-choice organization in Massachusetts). He also continues to oppose rights and protections for LGBTQ residents.
