Congress has returned from August recess, with the Senate back in-person and the House back for virtual Committee work, as lawmakers prepare to tackle several topics during the month of September. This week, NAFCU will host webinars on a variety of topics and will continue to prepare for its largest advocacy event of the year: 2022 Congressional Caucus. Credit unions can still register for the event, where attendees will engage lawmakers and regulators on a wide range of industry topics and all things happening in the Nation’s capital. The event, happening September 11-14, will be held in-person in Washington, D.C.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics issued the August Jobs Report on Friday, which revealed that the unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.7 percent in August. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Curt Long analyzed the report in a new NAFCU Macro Data Flash report.
