On June 28, 2019, our grantee partner SisterSong filed a federal lawsuit challenging Georgia's so-called "heartbeat law." The law bans abortion as early as six weeks into a pregnancy before many women even know they are pregnant.

The fight for reproductive healthcare access defined 2019 for our reproductive justice grantee partners. This year 10 states provoked feminist outrage as "heartbeat" bans swept through last-minute legislative sessions. But the elected officials of Georgia underestimated the courage and organizing prowess of SisterSong. These leaders are not backing down.

Help us to make sure that access to abortion and other reproductive healthcare does not disappear on our watch.
