John,
I hope you are having a lovely Labor Day!
As you enjoy this day, I wanted to take a few moments to share some thoughts with you.
A report was recently released by The Wall Street Journal revealing that many businesses are cutting back maternity and paternity leave benefits for their employees.
For example, Hulu just cut their paid parental leave benefits by 60%.
Instead of implementing pro-family policies now that Roe is gone, businesses are rushing to pay for their employees to have abortions.
To make matters worse, President Biden recently signed an executive order that incentivizes citizens to travel across state lines for abortions.
While all these pro-abortion advocates are saying these “benefits” are for women, the truth is beginning to shine through the cracks.
It’s cheaper for businesses to “help” women kill their children via abortion than it is for them to provide months of paid maternity and paternity leave.
Do you see what’s happening here? Work, revenue, material goods, and ease are all being placed as higher value and priority than human life.
Career success, money, large houses, fancy cars…. These things are not bad in themselves. We celebrate the goodness of work and success today on Labor Day.
But when we place material things over people, the joy of life is depleted. Are we really happy if we have success but no one to share life with?
Our culture is trying to convince us that children are a burden, but the truth is that it’s impossible to waste a day when the day is spent providing for, educating and caring for a child. ❤️ As C.S. Lewis said, “Children are not a distraction from work. They are the most important work.”
May today be a reminder: Work is good, but life is always more valuable than material profit. We don’t need more things to be happy; we need more love.
For life,
