Dear John,
I hope you will plan to join us this Friday, September 9, from 12-1 PM for our Friday Lunch and Learn: Building the Green Economy: Why the Fights Against Climate Change and Runaway Inequality Need a Strong Labor Movement.

The twin crises of climate change and rising economic inequality demand serious solutions that rise to the speed, scope, and scale of these challenges. Given their unique leverage in our economic system, organized workers have always been central to social struggles of all kinds and have a critical role to play in transitioning to a fairer and low-carbon economy. However, although rosy projections about "millions of green jobs" are often touted by proponents of renewables like solar and (offshore) wind, nothing about the quality of jobs in these industries is assured, and it's up to all of us to make sure this transition is a just transition.
Join Francis Eanes from the Maine Labor Climate Council as he discusses the approaches, policies, and alliances required to make this happen.
I hope to see you Friday,
Kathleen
